Diwali celebrated with special Indian lunch

Earlier this week a group of Patterson employees organized a Diwali celebration at Patterson headquarters. Together they invited all employees to join them for a traditional home-cooked Indian lunch (with desserts!) and to learn more about the holiday.

Diwali is India’s biggest and most important holiday of the year. Also called the “festival of lights,” it’s celebrated by lighting rows of clay lamps outside homes to symbolize the victory of light.

The organizers dressed in traditional Indian wrapped garments and decorated the space with colorful art.

“We had a great turnout for the Diwali lunch celebration this past week,” shares event organizer Raja Poranki. “It was truly special to see such a wonderful turnout and feel the support from the entire company in recognizing this important cultural holiday.”

Like so many other holidays, food was at the center of the celebration.

“We thoroughly enjoyed sharing our favorite traditional Indian recipes with all of you!” says Raja.
