No two days alike for technicians
Just days ago, John Gomez was installing anesthesia equipment at CityVet in Universal City, Texas, when the sprinkler system went off. Plumbers in the room next door were soldering and the room got hot enough to set it off.
Water started flooding the practice, so John grabbed a push broom and started shoving water out the back door. He yelled to his coworker, Dave Naschke, to make sure water didn’t go through the wall housing the newly installed digital X-ray unit.
“We were there a good 20 minutes of shoveling water before the plumbers figured out where the cut-off was,” John said. And he takes it in stride –– just part of the job, a job as a TechEdge service technician that he’s been doing for nine years now.
His favorite part of the job is that every day presents something different, including sprinkler systems. In fact, this is the second time a sprinkler system has gone off at CityVet, a multi-location practice.
About his job, John says, “There’s something different every day. The cool thing is you go to different places every day and as far as preventative maintenance customers; you get to know them. I enjoy it quite a bit and it’s a challenge because it’s not basically a routine every day. You always come up with something new.”
“I feel Patterson and employees go above and beyond what they’re asked to do. We are just that type of people – that’s who Patterson hires. Patterson is one of the three big major companies, and I feel like Patterson distances themselves as far as what the employees do for customers. Yes, there’s three companies out there, but I think we are way above them as far as what we do for customers. I’m happy and proud to be a Patterson employee.”
