Each year, Patterson supports nonprofit organizations by providing resources – both financial support and employee time and talents – to organizations that increase access to oral health and enhance the quality of life for humans and animals in our local communities.

Patterson employees receive Volunteer Time Off (VTO) to volunteer with local nonprofit organizations. And, the Patterson Foundation encourages and supports the passions of its employees outside of work through its Dollars for Doers program by donating $100 per employee to the organization where they volunteered.

Patterson Foundation

The Patterson Foundation was founded by Patterson employees in 2000 and has donated millions of dollars to oral and animal health nonprofit organizations. The Patterson Foundation awards post-secondary scholarships to Patterson employees’ dependents and makes quarterly grants to organizations in the oral and animal health field, with a preference to organizations that our employees volunteer and value in their communities.

Mark Walchirk, President and Chief Executive Officer

Mark Walchirk was named President, Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Patterson Companies in November 2017. Mark joined Patterson with nearly 30 years of experience in healthcare services and distribution, including 16 years at McKesson Corporation where he most recently served as President of U.S. Pharmaceutical, the largest business unit within McKesson’s North America pharmaceutical distribution & services segment.

Before joining McKesson, Mark spent 13 years in medical products supply chain and manufacturing with the former hospital supply division of American Hospital Supply, Baxter Healthcare, Allegiance Healthcare and Encompass Group, holding various leadership positions in sales, marketing, operations, national accounts and business development. Mark earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Illinois.


Tim Rogan, President, Dental

Tim Rogan was named President of Patterson Dental in July 2021. Most recently, Tim held the role of Senior Vice President and General Manager, Patterson Dental North America, where he was responsible for the day-to-day sales, operations and P&L, including sales execution, sales enablement, strategic planning, training and development and management of the Strategic Accounts channel. Tim has held numerous leadership positions within the company throughout his nearly 30 years with the organization.

Tim holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.


Kevin Pohlman, President, Animal Health

Kevin Pohlman was appointed President, Animal Health, in July 2017. Prior to that, Kevin served as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Patterson Animal Health. Before coming to Patterson, he held a variety of leadership roles at Lextron, where he most recently served as Vice President of Dealer Sales with oversight of the Marketing department until June 2011. Kevin began his career with Pohlman Bros. Supply, a family-owned dealer and distributor of dairy equipment, animal health supplies and food plant supplies in Ohio.

Kevin currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Veterinary Distributors Association, Agri Laboratories, Inc., and the Patterson Foundation. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University.


Don Zurbay, Chief Financial Officer

Don Zurbay joined Patterson Companies in June 2018 as Chief Financial Officer, bringing more than 28 years of experience in accounting and finance. Prior to joining Patterson, he served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at leading global medical device manufacturer St. Jude Medical, Inc., where he was responsible for all accounting, financial and business development activities.

Don also previously held positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers, The Valspar Corporation, and Deloitte & Touche. His career reflects a consistent track record of developing strategy and driving execution for business growth and expansion while optimizing operational efficiency and building high-performance teams.

Don earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business accounting from the University of Minnesota and participated in the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.


Andrea Frohning, Chief Human Resources Officer

Andrea Frohning was named Chief Human Resources Officer of Patterson Companies in May 2018. She most recently served as Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer at Snyder’s-Lance, a global manufacturer and marketer of snack foods. In this role, Andrea played an integral role in the company’s transformation to drive operational improvements, accelerate positive culture changes and grow leadership capabilities.

Prior to her tenure at Snyder’s-Lance, Andrea was Vice President of Human Resources at Crane Co. She also held other human resource managerial positions at Hubbell Inc., General Electric Consumer Finance and Pepsi Bottling Group.

Andrea holds a Bachelor of Science degree in human development and family studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree from the Institute of Labor and Industrial Relations at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.


Dave Lardy, Chief Information Officer

Dave Lardy was named Chief Information Officer of Patterson Companies in November 2016, and oversees the entire IT organization. Dave has been with Patterson since 2002, and previously held key roles in the ongoing evolution of our technology capabilities, including leading the technical execution of the SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) initiative.

Before joining Patterson, Dave created and managed technology solutions in the agriculture and automotive industries. Currently, Dave participates and supports the Minneapolis-St. Paul technology community through involvement in local organizations such as Think IT, Minnesota High Tech Association and Genesys Works.


Shivani Prabhakar Kaul, Chief Compliance Officer

Shivani Prabhakar Kaul joined Patterson Companies as Chief Compliance Officer in March 2020. She is responsible for leading the company’s compliance and regulatory programs.

Shivani has 15 years of combined law firm and industry experience. Most recently, she served as the Senior Vice President, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer of Avanos Medical, a publicly traded medical device company. In this role she developed and executed a global compliance strategy and assessed and prioritized global compliance risk in order to build out a compliance program aimed at early detection and mitigation of global compliance risk.

Shivani received a Master of Public Health, Health Policy and Management degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. and holds a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University in Chicago, Ill.


Les Korsh, Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

Les Korsh became Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Patterson in July 2015, and served as Patterson's Associate General Counsel since June 2014. Prior to joining Patterson, Les held positions as Vice President and Associate General Counsel for MoneyGram International, Inc. from May 2004 to May 2014, and was a principal in the law firm of Gray Plant Mooty, P.A. from June 1999 to May 2004.

Les received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Minnesota and his Juris Doctor degree from William Mitchell College of Law.


Mike Grazer, Vice President of Distribution Operations

Mike Grazer was named Vice President of Distribution Operations for Patterson in 2018 and has served the company for 20 years, including previous roles as Director of Distribution, Regional Distribution Center Manager and Distribution Center Manager. Mike is responsible for all distribution and logistics for the Dental and Animal Health business units, overseeing more than 70 sites and approximately 1,400 employees. He also designs and implements Fulfillment Center operations to optimize service, delivery, order quality and reduce operating expenses.

Before joining Patterson, Mike was an Operations Manager for FedEx Ground (formerly RPS) where he was responsible for managing all dock operations.

Mike received his bachelor’s degree in business administration, specialization in strategic management, operations and planning, from the University of North Texas.


Eric Shirley, Senior Vice President of Business Development

Eric Shirley is Senior Vice President of Business Development. He is responsible for working with the executive team to help identify, prioritize and execute on business development opportunities within the dental segment. Eric previously served as Chief Commercial Officer at Midmark, a leading provider of medical, dental and veterinary equipment, technology and services. In this role, Eric was responsible for driving revenue, marketing and operational efficiency within the company’s dental, medical and animal health divisions. Prior to his time at Midmark, Eric held leadership positions at Dentsply International and several other dental manufacturers.

Eric holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Long Beach State University, and a Master of Business Administration from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
