To foster students in the field of veterinary and dental careers, we encourage applicants from underrepresented populations to apply for the Patterson Scholarship. To be eligible:
- Be a high school senior, graduate, or current college undergraduate
- Plan to pursue a degree in a dental or veterinary medicine related field
- Plan to enroll in full-time or half-time* in an undergraduate, associate, or certificate** study at an accredited two-or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year/term. Students currently pursuing a graduate level degree are not eligible to apply.
*Half-time enrollment includes at least one or more courses with a minimum of 6 credit hours (or equivalent).
**Certification programs must be through an accredited institution and must run on a standard academic semester calendar. Certification programs must be a minimum of one semester in length. Preference will be given to students pursuing a certificate or associate degree.
Awards are:
- $2,000 each, renewable up to three years or until a certificate or degree is earned, whichever occurs first
- Based on satisfactory academic performance maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
- For full-time or half-time enrollment and pursing the eligible major
- For undergraduate study only
